This document is intended for new adopters of FossID software products. Whether you have recently purchased any of FossID software products or you are doing an evaluation, this User’s Guide will guide you through all the steps you need to know to perform scans and analyze the results.
This document covers the following sections:
- Web Application (FossID Workbench) is a web-based graphical user interface that provides you with advanced scanning and auditing functionality. In this section, you will learn how to create projects and scans, perform source code audits and generate reports.
- Command Line Interface (FossID CLI) is a programmable and lightweight software executable that provides FossID’s bare metal scanning functionality. In this section, you will learn how to install and configure the CLI, perform scans and interpreting the result data.
- FossID Toolbox is currently released in Beta and planned to replace FossID-CLI in the future releases.
- Blind Audit is a unique approach to open source auditing that allows you to perform scans and identifications without having access to the target source code. This section will guide you through all the steps required to perform Blind Audits.
