In FossID Workbench and API, projects are used to groups scans, control content access, serve as a source of identification reuse and to manage usage approvals of identified components. Creating a New Project
- Project Owner: Initially this is set automatically to the creator of a project Can be changed via the “Update project” form by users with permission ‘Update any project’.
- Project Code: The project code is a unique identifier for the project, once created it cannot be changed. If the field is left empty the system will automatically generate a value. Project code is applicable as source of identification re-use When issuing scans.
- Project Name: More than one project can have the same name, the name can be modified after creation. This is mandatory input and can be used for search.
- Limit Date: User definable use-case, e.g. target identification completion date.
- Product Code: User definable use-case.
- Product Name: User definable use-case.
- Description: User definable use-case.
- Comment: User definable use-case.
- Jira Project Key: User definable use-case.
Once created, the project can be used to group scans. Deleting a project will not delete any scans belonging to it.
