The dashboard serves as the portal of the Workbench. It gives you access to projects and scans, stand-alone tools (Quick View and Snippet Search), user management interface, settings, documentation and a tutorial to create new projects and scans called New Project Wizard.
You can always get back to the Dashboard by clicking on the FossID logo on the upper left corner:
